Ground Bass Music is the playing service of leading piper, Patrick Martin. I am two pipers in one, providing music on either Scottish bagpipes, or Irish uilleann pipes. I have recently taken up the flute and also play various whistles.

I took up both instruments at an early age and am now playing full time, both as a soloist and in various groups. I am a member of St. Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band, Dublin, and also play for Medieval Ireland, a re-enactment company. Other groups in which I feature include, The Willin' Fools, who combine traditional and rock music; Lua, a Scottish/Irish instrumental band; and "Mandragora," who provide traditional medieval and renaissance music for castles, hotels etc. I am available to perform at Weddings, Parties, Pubs, Music Clubs, Festivals or any special occasions.

I often play solo on bagpipes and uilleann pipes, but you can also contact me about the availability of the various groups I perform with. Full traditional dress is worn where appropriate, either Scottish or 18th century Irish.

Ground Bass is the technical term for the drone of the pipes, which provide the unmistakable accompaniment to the chanter's melody.
